Use Clorox Bleach Spray and Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner to spray random designs onto colorful T-shirts.  I got these T-shirts at Walmart for 2 and 3 dollars.  The toilet bowl cleaner sprayed out in large quantities, pooling in puddles on the shirt.  It soaked through to the other side, so on the second try we used cardboard in between although you don't need it, especially if you are just using the spray.  The spray made cooler designs.  If using the toilet bowl cleaner again I would try to limit the amount the kids squirted out on their shirts.  Here's Grant spraying his shirt.

You could also tie up the shirt in the traditional tie dye way and spray or squirt with the bleach spray. I'm sure that would look cool, but we didn't try that.
