Entertain your toddler


Here is my growing collection of on-the-fly activities for toddlers.

"On-the fly" Toddler Activities
Crayons and coloring book
Dry erase markers and a white board
Coloring with "color wonder" markers and paper
Playing with dry rice or beans, different sized bowls and scoops
Play-doh and different textured things to make "impressions"
Sidewalk chalk and a sidewalk :)
An old egg carton and nickels to take in and out of the egg places
Mom and Dad's shoes and clothes to try on and play "dress up"
Lots of music to listen and dance to
Playing with tissue paper
Books to read
Taking a walk outside
Playing on the balcony with the hose and inflatable pool
Wrapping up his stuffed monkey in a blanket and putting it to bed
Playing parachute with a fitted sheet
Taking videos with the video camera and then watching them...over and over
Filling a small wheeled storage cart with kitchen items (plastic spoons, stacking cups, water bottles) and letting him wheel things around
A paper shopping bag and small toys to fill it up with
A shoe with laces that he can lace and unlace
Taking chopsticks in and out of their fabric wrappers and in and out of a cup
Taking markers in and out of a plastic cup and a plastic zip pouch
Playing with a plastic sewing tape measure
Putting stickers on paper
Play hide and seek with a special toy or object
Old magazine pages wadded up and thrown in a big bowl...and then thrown out of the bowl
Almost anything if I will sit and do it with him
